The Bareket observatory in Israel is glad to announce about a spectacular SUPER MOON webcast, available anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
Participate in a multi-viewer broadcast of the most spectacular Super Moon of the year, a real celestial light show
The live event will take a place at the night of November 14th 2016.
This webcast will be available for all the interested with no charge, in order to continue and develop the interest of youth and adults in astronomy and science, all over the world.
All is needed is to log into the observatory's website from a personal computer, using a simple internet browser in order to have the opportunity to watch a real celestial wonder. The Super Moon multi-viewer broadcast will be captured with a high sensitivity CCD camera connected to a dedicated astronomical telescope.
The camera and its special wide lens optical system will be located at the top of Bareket observatory's dome in Israel, where it will be possible to watch the Super-Moon rising above the Judea mountains in the most optimal way and with ease, through the internet.
This unique system will enable the viewer to watch the event without even leaving home, school or the office – in the middle of the U.S day light time !

What is a Super-Moon?
Like a Harvest-Moon or a Blue-Moon the Supermoon is more of a cultural phenomenon rather than an astronomical event.
November’s super moon will appear bigger than it has been since January 1948, the moon will appears (slightly) larger than an average full moon. We won’t see the full moon this close again until Nov. 25, 2034
When the Moon reaches Full on November 14th at Perigee it distance will be about 356,500km (from the Earth’s center). This is the closest Full Moon since January 26th 1948, which was about 356,500 km from Earth and until November 25th 2034 356,450km.
